Rittenhouse Reverb
A high-floor residence overlooking Rittenhouse Square, designed for a client whose life runs on music and art. The brief was rare and wonderful: build a home around the way a record sounds when it fills a room. The result is warm, layered, and full of resonance, modern in its lines and timeless in its feeling.

Architecture as a Base
Floor-to-ceiling glass, raw concrete columns, and skyline views in every direction. Rather than polish those edges away, we leaned into them, wrapping the industrial framework in lime washed plaster in moody greens and warm taupes, walls of rich walnut, and the worn patina of vintage Turkish rugs layered over pale oak floors.

Designing a home that holds sound the way it holds light
Our client is a lifelong music lover and a natural collector, and we wanted every room in this Rittenhouse Square apartment to feel like an extension of that, warm, layered, and unmistakably personal.
The heart of the home is the listening setup: a turntable and a proper pair of speakers anchored to a low console, framed by the city beyond the glass. Around it, the collection comes to life.
A custom-commissioned black-and-white portrait made entirely out of dice. A vintage leather case and a hand-thrown vessel sharing a shelf with stacked records. A Lego dinosaur keeping watch from the sofa back, because not everything has to be serious. A blue flame-top guitar hung like the work of art it is.

The lighting was chosen as carefully as the art. In the dining room, a trio of hand-blown glass pendants drops from the ceiling on oxblood cords, a glass globe, a brass cone, and a smoked cylinder, suspended over a round walnut-based table.
In the kitchen, a long linear pendant wrapped in walnut and frosted glass runs the full length of the island, washing the stone in a low, warm glow and grounding the whole space with a single confident line.

The result is a home with real resonance: modern in its lines, timeless in its feeling, and entirely its owner's. The kind of space where a record dropped on a Sunday afternoon seems to hang long after the last track ends. That lingering quality, that reverb, is the whole point.
